Living on my own or Living with my family (Kyae Kyae Hlaing)

Living on my own or Living with my family

Many people want to spend their life with their family while some prefer to live on their own for several reasons. We can get a sense of love, kindness and also mental and physical  support through living with family. However, we can be independent and peaceful if we stay alone. I personally prefer to live on my own .This essay will explain some merits and demerits of living alone.

To begin with, as I am an introverted person, sometimes I can't bear a lot of noise.  If  I live with my family, I don't  get any calm and quiet when I want. For instance, even as I read a book, I can't get in a  good mood because of the environment's noise. Subsequently, I can manage the volume of the TV, phone's ringing and also the voice of other people if I live on my own.

And secondly, as I am the youth, I am happy being independent. Although it really is something special to have a good relationship with my family for a long time,  this situation occasionally creates us to rely on others too much. Not willing to do everything actively, I am always a couch potato  as I know that my mom is cooking for me and also my dad can make money. If I live on my own, I need to do and plan everything on my own. So, I don't waste most of my time without doing anything.

Thirdly, being on my own can make me stronger and lift up my life better. Assume that when we live with our family members who you care about, most of your time will be spent worrying about them and the needs of them, rather than just the needs of ourselves. When I live on my own, I can see clearly what I need. My decision, thoughts and passion become more powerful.

On the other hand, living with the family makes me safe and warm. We can share a meaningful conversation, a source of love and kindness. In addition, when I suffer from depression, only my family can support me.

In conclusion, good points and bad points come along in every circumstance. The most thing we need to learn is that  we have to resist what we encounter in our life. From my point of view, as I am a young person, I want to experience  new problems, adventure, in other words, how to transition throughout my life. Therefore, I prefer living on my own to living with my family.

Living on my own or Living with my family

People have different opinions and viewpoints about living with parents and living alone or moving out. In our country, many young adults are found to live with their parents until they get married. This is perhaps because of our traditions and customs but accordingly, it is affecting important details of our lives, right down to the manners we behave in our workplace and the degree of success we can achieve in our lives.

When it comes to living with our parents, one of the advantages is that we can save up more money. We won’t have to pay for rent and spend on household goods. Second, we need not do all the daily chores. Maybe our mother or our siblings can help us doing them together; like cooking, cleaning or doing laundry. Home-cooked meals are my favorite ones that make me home-sick whenever I’m away from my parents. Third, there is a sense of warmth and safety when we are home with our parents. After we have to work hard and get tired in our work or school, we have our parents to make us feel comfortable and supportive as soon as we are back home. However, there are also some drawbacks when we are living with our parents. Firstly, we may have little privacy or private space. If our parents can’t understand us, we won’t be able to do what we want to do in our free time. For example, they may ask us to do chores or help them with their work when we are studying or playing games. What is more, our parents always look at us as their children. No matter how we get old, they will step in making decisions for our personal lives and this can create some conflicts between our parents and us.

On the other hand, when we are living alone, all our time is our own. No one would disturb us during our free time and it yields much more room for fun. Regardless of being restricted, we can attend courses or enjoy our hobbies when we are living alone. We can also invite our friends to study or chill up together without the need for permission from our parents. However, that new freedom often comes with a greater responsibility. We will have worries about all the housework, meals and especially, managing finances. Further, while we are moving out, the feeling of loneliness and insecurity can be of the greatest barriers we are going to face. If we can’t handle them well, living alone will be like sinking ourselves into a sea of troubles. In contrast, if we can overcome all these difficulties, it is a big chance to better learn self-management skills, find out the real us and be ready for our future.

In conclusion, it depends on the kind of person we are to make a choice between living with parents and living alone. In my personal opinion, living alone can help young adults of today to be more responsible for their lives, being independent and struggling to face what the outer world really is. That’s why I would rather live alone and give a try to grow like the butterfly out of the cocoon.

Living on my own or Living with my family (Ei Mon Kyaw)

Living on my own or Living with my family

People will have different opinions and preferences between living independently and living with family. I think both have their own advantages and drawbacks. For living with the family in the same house, it does have many advantages. Firstly, we don't have to worry about the meal because there is always the best cook in the kitchen , maybe Dad or Mom. They could be such a reminder for each and every single meal. Apart from making the best dishes, they make sure we don't skip any meal. Secondly, our family members will be our personal  doctors for us as they keep checking on our health. If we are under the weather, they would come to us and take care of us. Thirdly, we could not feel safer in our home than anywhere else in the world. We would feel safe and warm in our home sweet home. Lastly, we wouldn't have much stress about our life. We don't have to worry about our daily expenses as our parents always take care of it.

On the other hand, there will be some drawbacks in our personal life if we keep dependent on our parents. We will not have the chance  to make our own decisions for our life as our parents are worried about what if we  make the wrong decision and we  will suffer from it. That's why we would not have much freedom .If our parents are  too much involved in our personal life, we will be vulnerable to it. We cannot be on our feet as we have to ask our parents' permission all the time. Because of it, we will lose our worth and self-confidence. Consequently, we will start losing ourselves as we are living in a life being decided by others.

That is why once in a lifetime, why don't we try to be ourselves. It is obvious that being independent and living on our own will have some trades-off. But if we could stand on our own feet, we would be much confident and believe in ourselves. We will start to learn some basic life skills as we have to take responsibility for everything in our life. We will be more courageous as we will encounter and have to solve many unexpected things in our life. As trades-off, we will have to make more money for accommodation and daily expenses. We will have to do the house chores on our own without any help. We will also have to worry about our safety as we are living alone. Everything will be on our own. Many problems and challenges will be awaiting us as we start living alone. I think it is worthy to take up courage and stand up on our own for our life. But, don't forget to maintain a balance between our personal life and family life. In that way, we are more likely  to  have  a complete life.

Living with family or living on my own? Which one do you prefer? Why? (Yu Wai Mon)

Living with family or living on my own? Which one do you prefer? Why?

In my opinion, I prefer living with my family rather than living on my own. And I think this can be changed according to our age. When I was young, I always wanted to live on my own. I thought that if I do, I can feel free and I can do everything without asking permission. In living with family, I always ask permission from my parents if I want to do something or go somewhere. And then I feel that family always restricts me. This may be the disadvantages of living with my family. But as I grew older, my thoughts changed. I think that there are also good things about living with my family. We can feel more  safety and don' t need to be worried about money and food. If we live on our own,  we can have trouble living with others. In other words, we always worry about social relationships. And we are less secure. These are the bad points of living on my own.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Living on my Own and Living with my Family (Lin Lin Thu)

Advantages and Disadvantages of Living on my Own and Living with my Family

Throughout my life, most of my lifetime I have been hanging out with my family. Sometimes, I have experienced the circumstances where I lived alone. Accordingly, I want to describe some of the advantages and disadvantages of living on my own and living with my family.

The main advantage of living on my own is freedom and independence. Since there is no one who controls and forces me, I can do whatever I want to do and I don’t need to adjust to someone. I can eat anytime and anywhere and I can get up late. I can listen to music whether it is daytime or nighttime. In addition, I can manage my rooms as I desire since there are no rules. There is no problem if the room is kept clean or not. Furthermore, it is good that I can give more attention when I study my lessons and read the books since the surroundings are silent and calm. Creating a silent and calm place is not difficult for someone who lives alone. Another advantage of living on my own is that I can improve in problem solving and decision making skills. When I live alone, there will be more opportunities to solve most of the issues on my own without consulting my parents. On the other hand, there are some disadvantages for living alone. Firstly, the length of a day and a night will be longer and I will be bored and I will feel lonely. Therefore, I can spend my time without benefits by living on social media and watching dramas. Second, there will be little familiar with my family, cousins and relatives. At last, I can cultivate bad habits since there is no control.

There are also several advantages of living with my family. Firstly, my physical and mental health will be better. I have a chance to live in a warm, secure, and familiar family. And our home-made meal will be more nutritious. When I am ill, they will care for me. Second, I can save money. It is not necessary to worry about the expenses. Third, I can get satisfaction by helping my parents. And, I will not need to do all the housework regularly. My mother or my sisters will do some housework. Last but not least, when I have trouble at work or at school, I can get advice from them. They can give some comfort and peace of mind. On the other hand, there are also certain disadvantages. The major disadvantage of living with my family is not freedom. I need to get permission from my parents whatever I do. Moreover, the desire that wants to depend on someone can be rooted in my mind. I will not learn the hard lessons of life. At last, my study time will be little because I can spend most of my leisure time by chatting with my relatives and doing the housework.

Taking everything into consideration, although both living on my own and living with my family have many advantages, I still prefer living with my family to living on my own.

My Thoughts on the Song, Wonder (Lin Lin Thu)

My Thoughts on the Song, Wonder

Some of my opinions that appear in my mind after listening to the song “Wonder” by Shawn Mendes are as follows. People in this world live with uncertainty. Any ordinary human being can’t know exactly what will happen in the future. Therefore, they have many questions and they want to know, meet and feel many things they have never experienced before. A person always asks himself who he is, what kind of person he wants to become, if it is true what he is doing and so on. When it has been a long time we don`t get in touch with my friends, we expect to understand about our lives and to know we remember them and worry that they will misunderstand us. Sometimes, we want to abscond to a place where there is not black and white when we have a lot of stress and depression. When we are lonesome, we fall in love with someone and wonder what it is like to be loved by someone. Although it is said that you will not avoid a mistake if you are a mankind, we are anxious to make mistakes and we are afraid people will criticize and put the blame on us. But, we hope that we can become better persons and we can overcome the obstacles.

My thought on the song "Wonder" (Yu Wai Mon)

My thought on the song "Wonder"

In this song, I feel that he might be struggling in his mind. He thought that he had no chance to live in his real existence and then he was in the situation of black and white. So, he really wondered what would happen if not. And I understand that he loves his friends. He wishes that his friends are understanding about his life. Although he was not around them, he wanted to know that he would always remember them. In other words, he wanted them to believe him. I also consider the love of the two people. He was falling in love with someone and hoped to have the same love as him from this girl. But he was afraid to tell openly about some things in his life. Moreover, he was worried about being insulted by others if he told openly or if he followed his feelings. I believe his feelings for her were very obvious and hopeful as he said that one day she will be side by side.

Thoughts on the Song, Wonder by Shawn Mendes (Ei Mon Kyaw)

Thoughts on the Song, Wonder by Shawn Mendes

This evening, I happened to listen to a song "Wonder" by Shawn Mendes. It was my first time listening to his new released song. Whenever I listen to his songs, I always have a tingling feeling and so many thoughts on my mind. As usual, after listening to the song wonder, I have a heap of thoughts on my mind. First and foremost is I am also feeling the same like him, losing and finding myself. I wonder if I could be myself, being real and true to me at least. To be survival of the fittest, on the other words, to fit in the society, there are so many things being demanded willingly or not willingly. Being a woman, especially in a strict society  being dominated by the culture and custom, there are so many things that need to be obeyed . Of course, it was not a law, it is the standard set by society . So, what if we deviate from the standard? I think we wouldn't dare because we are afraid of the consequences. So, what are we afraid of, the criticism or the hatred of the people? I will say both. Generally, people want to be loved, not hated by others. I think people will start thinking what if others see bad in you whenever they deviate from the standard. Worrying about making mistakes, they become timid , losing  confidence and start losing themselves because they have to be a very perfect one, not willingly. I think that  situation conditioned them to feel like it makes them less of a human being. Then, they started to hate themselves, blaming themselves for not being perfect. That is why I wish to live in a world or society , not being extreme and judgmental about someone for not following rules or standards. I wish the world could be a place that allows imperfections. In the song it is said like " Wouldn't it be nice to live inside a world that isn't black or white?" In that way, people could be happier and more free, being themselves. These are my mere thoughts from his song.

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life (Zaw Myo Hlaing)

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life

Being an inspiring person is not an easy task. To be inspired by someone, he or she might possess a certain criteria , the one which is mostly acceptable and attainable for someone. We've usually experienced such kinds of people in our lifetime, maybe our parents, teachers, colleagues and so many others.

When someone ask me about the persons who inspire me a lot, I'll answer immediately that they are my parents and some of my teachers. Beside them, I have also had another woman who inspires me a lot recently. That woman is Chit Thu Wai, a famous awards-winning actress, a singer and a doctor. There are many reasons for my inspiration to her. The one thing is because of her helpful and open mind. Since 2019, she and her husband had already founded Khit-Thit Foundation for the celebration of their twin daughters' birthday. The aim is to support for under 5-year-old children who have congenital heart defects in medical care. Moreover, within COVID-19 period, their foundation is offering a lot of medical tools and many volunteers to hospitals in collaboration with donors around the world. Not only does she appear in public benefit programs for others but also she is a good housewife for her family.

Although I haven't met her until now, the things she does and her adorable spirit inspire me a lot. One day, I want to be a person who can give someone a hand for those who need help.

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life

In my life until now, I've met so many people who come and go. Among them, there are still who have left so many footprints in my life and who inspired or have inspired me a lot. So, how does a person inspire me ? For me, a person who inspires is someone who has a great influence on my thoughts and who has set an example to me. Thinking of the people in my life, one person who has remained in my heart unconsciously was my English teacher. The last time I saw her was about six years ago , but she still occupies much space in my life. When I first saw her, I was eleven years old. I felt nervous and self-conscious of her at that time as she was my teacher. As soon as I saw her, the first thing I noticed was her long  beautiful  silky dark hair. My first impression of her was charming, beautiful and nice. She really was. At that time, she was in her late thirties, the most beautiful time of her life. Her class was always full of music and laughter, somehow always noisy and active. She was the one who proved learning is fun. Thanks to her, I've got my passion in English. She always taught enthusiastically. Not only did she teach English but also taught ways of living as an independent woman. With her teaching, I 've got much confidence in myself and put much effort in English. She always encouraged me to believe in myself as she always did. With her help, I got a distinction in English in my matriculation exam. Till now, I think she was the one who made the person who I am today, though she may have forgotten. To be just like her , I have even become a teacher and I am trying to be the kind of teacher who could shape a person's life.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, a successful consultant in Myanmar, is the woman who inspires me a lot in my life. She, a daughter of our General Aung San, graduated from the  University of Oxford. She got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. She is also the leader of the National League for Democracy.
There are many reasons why she  inspires me. To begin with, she is heroic, frugal and persevering. Her mind flows with warmth and humanity. As she is a politician, she doesn't like to empower the public authoritatively whereas she  hopes to build the country together to a better life , and this is why I admire her.
Another reason why I respect her is for how she sacrifices herself to get  peace for our country. Although she stumbled upon the quandary through life, she was resistant to her plans. She is the kind of person like "When life hands her lemons, make lemonade" as well.
With her attitude on having a good-hearted and being humble enough are the qualities that I look up to her. Not only is she  a wisdom woman but she is also a preserver of our tradition and culture. Because of these given traits, she is the wonderful woman for me in my life.

The Woman Who Inspires Me A Lot in my Life

We are ordinary human beings and we cannot live alone throughout our life. We have met and communicated with different kinds of people and some are good characters and some are not. Among the people I met, I want to mention the woman who inspired me a lot in my life. She was our Headmistress who served in our Basic Education Post-primary School about 12 years ago. She was a person who I really admire and raised me willing to try. She was tall and thin. She had long, black hair and fair skin. She was very smart. She was able to administer and supervise her school in accordance with rules and regulations. Not only the students and staff but the villagers loved and respected her. She acted herself as a role model for staff and students and also nurtured them to have good disciplines and behave good manners. We were practiced to respect duties and responsibilities by using rewards and punishments. Even in the summer holidays, she organized and opened polite and well-behaved classes for us. From her reign to the present, the reputation of that school that the students from that school are clever is still stable. I also have had some good habits since that time. Regrettably, it took a few years after she left this world because of a disease. I will always remember her in my lifetime.

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life (Cho Yee Mon)

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life

My source of inspiration is none other than my beloved mother. Now she is almost 51 years old but her look can fool many people into thinking that she is younger than her age. Unlike me, she has fair complexion and is short. She is stunning with her attractive round brown eyes. What makes her being noticed among others is definitely her beautiful smile with her ever-pink lips.

She is not only physically flawless but is intelligent as well. Once she was a top university student and simply that’s why she usually encourages me to focus on my studies like her. So today me being smart and bright is totally by virtue of her motive. Up to now, she comes to nurse and sleep with me when I’m sick. It’s her gentle kiss me on my forehead that makes me fall asleep in a flash. She is a really good listener and often very patient with me. Whenever I need or want some advice or support, she is always there for me. I must admit that she is the one who teaches me the most how to be good and kind on others.

It is no exaggeration to say that she is the carpenter of my life. She taught me how to eat, dress, behave and learn how to live my life. Here I would like to thank God for gifting her as my mother. I find no way to repay for all the kindness and love that she gives me.

The woman who inspires me a lot in my life

I find inspiration from a variety of people and things. I would have to say that the woman who has greatly inspired me has been my mother. She always had a smile on her face no matter how she had hard work. She has influenced me since I was born and until now. So, I have the same things as her. She not only  acts on others with kindness and respect but also tells me to  behave like that and be patient when I speak or listen with others around me.  I try to live as she does as much as I can. And she is a teacher and used to be very proud of her profession. She looks smart and beautiful while teaching. I always envy and imitate her. So, I have to say that I became a teacher because of her. Moreover,  she always encourages me to learn more. There are words she always says that doing what is bad is to be  bad and doing what is good is to be good. And then she tells me to be self-reliant and she is also  such a person. These are the facts that my mother dominates me.

My Favourite Language Learning Methods (Kyae Kyae Hlaing)

My Favourite Language Learning Methods

Many people deem that learning a new language is very much helpful to put on  vast knowledge. That being said, learning a new language is a long-term project. It is not easy-peasy like digging a well and then  drinking water immediately . In order to succeed, we will need to put a lot of continuous effort into learning a new language. To learn a new language resourcefully, there are a variety of ways in which we can use language techniques to really benefit us.

I always learn a new language by watching movies without subtitles at first. And then, I listen carefully to their intonation and stress . Not only is this one of the best ways to get new vocabularies, slang, modern usages but I can also get a greater sense of that language's culture as well. If I don't know enough of that language,  I  keep  turning the subtitles on and note a list of new vocabulary words and uses in my book. In this way, I get huge knowledge from watching movies.

The second way is that I always seek the learning partner and make a friend. As you know, friendship makes us more freely and so we can chat more frankly without feeling nervous and self-conscious. We can exchange our new vocabularies and they give me some food for thoughts., It is the easiest way  to get comfortable and practice with my partners for learning a new language as well.

In conclusion, learning a new language is challenging, frustrating and sometimes quite difficult. Not only do we need to be patient but we also hold  completely our passion for it. In addition, learning a new language is a continuous learning process. So, if you want to be skillful in a new language, you need to practice  more and more.

My Favourite Language Learning Methods (Lin Lin Thu)

My Favourite Language Learning Methods

Nowadays, people are learning other languages for several reasons, including international trade, effective and faster communication, job opportunities and further learning in others’ countries. Learning a new language is hard and complex. If we are struggling to learn it, it requires sustained, consistent practice. At the initial stage, it can be indeed challenging. However, our skills will improve if we study and practice the language with great perseverance. In this age, we can easily learn a language, especially our second language, English. We can easily obtain English movies, music and practice programs on mobile devices. Furthermore, there are so many ways for language learning such as teaching ourselves, learning with language partners, listening to radio, etc. The most effective language learning method for me is learning with language partners. Motivation is very necessary for me whatever I do. Although I had thoughts to study English every day before I joined the OPSIMATH, it did not work. Thanks to that group, now, I get used to studying English regularly. Though my ability in English still improves only a little during three weeks, I believe that I can do it well in the future.

The innumerable benefits of learning languages are undeniable. Researchers have found that people who master more than one language have improved memory, enhanced concentration, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. However, learning languages is not that easy-breezy for everyone. Some find it easy to learn a language with great success and little effort, whereas for others the task is neither lucrative nor enjoyable. In fact, each of us has our own way of learning languages.

My preferred way of learning languages is learning through music. Being an auditory learner, I can understand and remember things I have heard faster than trying any other learning styles. I can learn new words, their usages and sometimes slang from the lyrics. The very first song I have tried listening to and singing along for learning English was “The day you went away” by “M2M”. The melody was quite lovely and the lyrics were heart-touching.  Since then, I have realized that learning through music is the most effective language learning method for me.

When it comes to learning language, the most basic and important point is to know a person’s particular learning style as it can help us reduce language difficulties and barriers, while maximizing our potential and efficiency.

Learning languages and playing a musical instrument are quite the same in general. To play a musical instrument, we need to have one kind of instrument and to keep in touch with it so that we can handle it well. Once we've played an instrument well, it will get along with us throughout our lifetime. Like this, learning a language is a life-long process. Once we've learned a language fluently, it will always be with us for the rest of our life. There’re many tips for learning a language. Firstly, we need to surround ourselves with that language. Especially for learning English, we need to practise it daily like listening to English songs and watching English movies and documentaries. From these, we can learn a lot not in vocabulary but in structure. Secondly, the most effective way is talking to ourselves and thinking in that language. Whenever we do something, we need to talk about that thing orally and think in our mind. Last but not least, the only thing is to have a strong desire to learn that language. Without a passionate will, we can't learn any language to a certain degree. During the past few years, I’d always shouted that I wanted to learn English and I wanted to play a guitar without having any effort. But now, I'll do my best to learn these two lovely things.

The Effective learning language methods (Yu Wai Mon)

The Effective learning language methods

Everyone has been learning all your life and each person has different learning styles. And there are the most effective learning language methods. First, we have to focus on words and their meaning as the vocabularies are very essential for any language. And then if we need to memorize,  we do it. Sometimes, we should learn with contexts. Learning words with an example in a sentence is better to understand their meaning. Moreover, it is very important to have motivation to learn. So, we must keep in mind to be always motivated to learn. Another is learning with language exchange. We can share the words we know to one another. This can help to remember the words well. Others can absorb the words  naturally by reading. And then learning music is also an effective way of learning. We have to listen carefully and sing along with the lyrics. Watching movies can be helpful for our learning. As for me, memorizing and practicing more and more is the most effective way of learning language.

Learning a language is like learning an instrument, long tedious years of learning and practice and then one day you put it all together and it flows smoothly. It needs a lifetime to master a language with continuous perseverance and effort. Apart from working hard to learn a language, playing smart is also the key point. I've heard people complaining like  no matter how hard they try and no matter how many classes they have joined, there are so many things left they don't know yet in a language . In the past years I was also one of them and I gave up so many times as learning a language is more difficult and tiring work than I thought. Since last year , I have started learning my favourite language, English. And surprisingly, I've found some tricks and I am going to share some of them. The first one I do daily is listening to English songs and singing along with them. It may seem embarrassing at first. But just flow with the music and you will start feeling the gut to sing along. After repetitive listening and singing , you will notice remembering some catchy words from the lyric. The next one is watching English movies with subtitles and without translation. Movies can teach you some practical words that foreigners use in their daily lives. You may also get to learn their culture , their mood and intonation. These two tricks that I have been doing can help you with some of the skills in the language. I think learning should be fun and you can learn without much pressure and effort. So, why don't you try these tricks and be a more confident learner?
